This low impact substrate contains strontium and magnesium, free of phosphates and silicates. Though it is not intended as a food supplement, it is 100% edible and easily digestible. Reptilite is made using aragonite, the most soluble form of calcium carbonate available; allowing reptiles to ingest necessary calcium for proper bone development. The naturally occurring strontium is also believed to increase bone density according to recent studies. Spot cleaning your sand substrate daily and replacing it entirely every 4 to 6 months is recommended.
